Nice to hear from you! Good luck on all your goals!

Yea I’ve been pretty quiet lately huh? I’m glad to see you too! Thank you for the good luck wishes; I will try my very best! <3

I’ve been trying to lose weight for awhile now and I can now officially say I’ve reached my 20 lb weight loss mark!

It’s going to be a long journey to get to my ideal weight but I’m going to keep going. Right now I’m counting calories and alternating between two 10 minute walks and one 20 minute walk daily and it’s working so far!

Also wish me luck on this job hunt I’m currently on guys. I’ve currently applied and reapplied to three different stores in my area and haven’t been contacted yet. It’s going to be a tough journey but I’ll have to stick with it; thinking about getting involved with an employment agency to see if I can speed up the process, I think it would be worth it.

Also also working on getting my permit; I’ve had some medical issues preventing me from driving for awhile now but I was given the okay recently so I’m going to try my best to get in there and get started on my license.

LOTS OF LIFE CHANGING DAUNTING THINGS ARE HAPPENING but they are good positive things! Just have to shake off the negative feelings and get in there. Special thanks to singingrabbitskull for always being there WE’LL KEEP MOTIVATING EACH OTHER. <33 ALSO GO CHECK OUT HER AWESOME ARTWORK SHE IS AN AMAZING ARTIST.

So that’s a little check in with things that have been going on lately I know I’ve been really quiet but there’s been a lot going on. I check tumblr daily so if you ever want to get a hold of me or just say hi; I’m around!

About the art style emulatin' thing; that would be really cool if you could try mine, only if you want to. I LOVE THIS KIND OF THING. I've had someone try it before and it came out great it was really eye opening to me. Maybe try drawing something you associate with me in my art style? Could be fun!

Behold, the counterfeit chilopodacrudus!

At the start I was having some trouble, but I think I got the hang of it!

I kinda just improvised a creature kinda like something you would draw, and looked at how you shape limbs and do linework.  Strangely, what I associate most with your art you don’t do much anymore it would seem, which is very rectangular torsos.  I remember back in the day you liked to draw characters with a very sturdy trunk that went kinda straight down from the shoulder.  I snuck that in a little bit anyway haha.

OH MAN I’M LATE ON THIS.

This came out great. I think you got it down pretty well especially the leg section. Thanks for doing this! I also love the creature you came up with! The torso is definitely how I detail things out and I love how you left the sketch lines and stuff. DEM THIGHS TOO you really did well.

Thought I’d throw some pictures of of a few big things I crocheted.  Plus what crochet looks like with a Cat.  Much like drawing where the cat wants to sit on you/bat your pen but now it’s she wants to attack your string.  Rina’s actually pretty good and just lays there.  The up close of her was when she crawled in my lap while I was crocheting and stayed there like NOPE.

The blanket was the first big project.  I’ve made hats and a scoodie (scarf with a hood) but those are better if I take a picture in them and I’ll save that for a day where I feel ok going HEYLOOKATMEherping.

For the blanket I followed this tutorial for anyone interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wf4MgHdpqyw

I just really wanted to make a blanket.  It’s actually really warm but also really heavey so it’s not something you could give to a kid if you’re afraid they’ll knock their foot in the holes.  I crochet a border aroudn the edging because I didn’t like in the video how the end looked.  That’s why there’s a thicker band of blue at the end.  The blanket was going to be bigger but I got bored and went I’M DONE.  Moms room got to be the model for that because my bed is against the wall.

Next was after I learned to make a case, using my ipad as practice, I made a funky envelope cover to hide chilopodacrudus birthday gift which was another copy I found of Eric Carle’s Dragons Dragons and other creatures that never were.  The book wasn’t enough and she liked crochet stuff..and then after I made it found out she likes envelopes so double yay!  The color poking between the black is green.  Which you can see more in person.

The next one which I have a cute picture of Rina with but tumblrisbeingstupid, is a scraps pillow case.  I love yarn and colors in general aaand went overboard and needed to get rid of some of my yarn/use some scraps I had.  So GIANT PILLOW.  Well 24X16.  I was like I WANT COLORS ALL OVEEER.  It was also my first time really really practicing sewing.  I’m proud of the zipper though I’m hoping the way I tied holds it..my sewing is pretty tight it’s just the tying of the ends I’m worried about.  The pillow is double stranded.  So every row I’m crocheting with two yarn strings at once.  It makes the pillow case super warm but also very sturdy.

Messing with amigurumi and filet crochet are next to learn really.  Youtube has been a great help all the people uploading their tutorials.

I thought I’d upload a few crochet things to show you guys since I uploaded moms scarf so long ago.  Art will be uploaded soonish.  I got my glasses in so I can SEE AGAIN WELL ENOUGH.

I LOVE MY BIRTHDAY ENVELOPE BAG COVER IT IS AMAZING AND IT MAKES ME VERY HAPPY. So does my book I HAVE BEEN WANTING THAT BOOK FOR A LONG TIME A VERY LONG TIME. I love all of your crochet projects they all look awesommmmmme. I will try to work on mine soon I just need to practice and stop sucking.

sunshinedorkface:

I have Keratoconus which is a genetic condition that causes the cornea to turn cone shaped. It makes it hard to see, because bright lights form halo effects, obscuring the vision, and making it difficult to read, and in my case, draw. The day before my birthday, I went to a specialist, who gave me three options; Cross linking eye surgery, (which is still considered experimental in the United States, and not covered by insurance) Intact lenses (also not covered by insurance) or complete cornea transplants (Which is covered by insurance, but much riskier than the other two listed).

Although there is some hope, since the Intacts is currently going through trial runs and studies for it to be approved by most insurances, I will learn by october, if I will be an acceptible participant for the study, and receive the intacts at either a reduced price, or not pay at all.

But, worse case scenerio, I will have to pay $5000-9000 per eye.

I cannot afford that, on my walmart salary. My family is barely skating by with what we have, and we still struggle every month to make ends meet. There is absolutely no way we would be able to pay for this surgery.

And, that really scares me.

As an artist, and a writer, I depend so much on my eyes. Keratoconus is not curable, and will only worsten, if they go untreated. I NEED this surgery, but I can’t pay for it, with the few hundred bucks I get from putting up with walmart customers.

So, I turn to you, Tumblr. This is very hard for me to do, since I was raised to believe that if someone can work for their money, they very well should, and reserve the free help to the people who truly cannot help themselves. But, if you feel like you can, and want to donate, please feel free to send that money to my Paypal, at maryzolgarcia90@yahoo.com

If you want to help in another way, please spread my Commissioning Info or feel free to commission a piece of artwork from me directly by sending me an ask here, note me at my Dev.artor Email me your information at the same Email stated for my Paypal.

Simply re-blogging this really helps as well.

Thank you for taking your time for reading this out.
